Self Awareness & Self Management

We all talk a lot about self appraisal, self assessment, self organization in most of our day today activities. Most of us would've heard these terms in our performance appraisal during end of the year or mid year appraisal. What is this really about ? And do we actually spend the time that we need to know what we have really performed and what we really are capable of ?. Before we ask that question there is the most important Personal competence which we ourselves need to identify and justify. Those are Self Awareness and Self Management.
So what are these really about ? Self Awareness and Self Management are about trying to stay aware of oneself and understand the emotions to manage our behaviour and outcomes.
Self Awareness & Self Management - It is the ability to be aware of our emotions and what triggers the way we react to situations. It also is being highly knowledgeable of previous instances of similar situations and our reactions to them. To be highly self aware, one must have the willingness, perseverance to withstand and tolerate a feeling that may be negative. The only way to understand how our emotions play through is to spend enough time to recollect and learn from the situation that just happened. It might be stressful, but it is important to collect the positives and be tolerant next time to be self-aware of similar instance and deviate the outcome to a more positive direction.
From where are these emotions triggered ? It could be a sudden anger, a sudden feel of discomfort, a feel of insecurity, a feel of frustration etc. No matter what triggers it its always important to spend enough time to think through those and make sure to learn what was negative and recollect ourself to be move self aware. This will especially keep us from doing something which we often regret. The most important thing is to be honest to yourself and answer genuinely to your conscience. Conscience is usually referred as inner mind which tells an individual about which is right and which is wrong. Often self-awareness automatically kicks in for most people and their conscience asks them the right question, until they decide to shut it down forcefully.

control what you react and start responding
discover better version of yourself
So, to summarize
The need for self awareness has been always important in the our professional and personal life. It is something that helps individuals be satisfied, identify their strengths and weakness, identify what they need to do, control their behaviour to negative things and stay on top of their own emotions. Grow the skill of being self aware and lets be a better version of ourselves :)
